i must say that this past weekend was a doozy. while i should be discussing my jump back ball experience, i need to sleep on that topic so i can eloquently describe the interesting evening. but let’s just say that it involved blood, dancing and omelettes.

i should be discussing how terrific my weekend was, but i am currently watching glee (this jamie foxx “blame it” rendition is ridic) and my head is in a totally heavenly mindset at the moment. i just signed a lease on a new car, jump back ball is this weekend and i also just received some other exciting news.

but i will tell you that xyz the tavern is awesome (so is abc tavern). the cleveland museum of natural history is actually very interesting. mama santa’s pizza is the best. viva italia at our lady of mt. carmel should be on your bucket list. and the big egg is really not that big of a deal.

minus losing all of my contacts on my cell and cleaning up a huge leaky mess at the loft, i would say it was an A- weekend.

i feel like i have way too much to talk about but i think i will have to break them up into separate posts. more to come.

the only photo i have from the weekend. say hi matt and michelle!

word of the day – deal

also known as "crack fries" - get in my belly!

i like happy hour. you like happy hour. we all like happy hour.

i know this is a petty request, but i must bring it up. after going to quite a few spots this past weekend including reddstone, flannery’s, touch supper club and bar cento, i am still a huge fan of the lava lounge happy hour (hh) menu. however, they recently have removed the lava dew martini from the hh menu and just this past week they have removed their delectable pomme frites which were included with their hh burger.

now correct me if i am wrong, but one must have fries with their burger. especially when their as delicious as the lava pomme frites. so if anyone is reading this who may have special pomme powers, please consider adding them back with the hh burger special.

plus, it’s valentine’s day and it would be a nice gesture.

xoxo,
seanski

you are beautiful, no matter what they say. words can't bring you down.

the current weather conditions may be miserable. all of our professional sports teams are playing miserably. and i am getting really irritated with all of these miserable potholes in our cities roads.

however, we could be MUCH more miserable. which is obvious, because this year cleveland has been voted the number 10 most miserable city, if you recall, last year forbes named “the mistake on the lake” the number one most miserable american city. quite the comeback, ehh?

what i found interesting was the fact that eight cities in california were on the top 20 list as well as some glamorous places such as miami, washington d.c. and chicago. really? i mean if i had to, i would have a great time living in any of those bustling, cosmopolitan cities.

i also do not exactly agree with cleveland’s ranking because the reasons listed are in regards to the loss of lebron james and our sports teams failing attempts at any sort of championship win. sports teams are an important factor in any major cities economy, but there are far more important things to consider.

i could list 10 other cities that should be on the top ten list. where is buffalo? how about newark? i guess i should just shut up and deal with the fact that we are no longer the most miserable — just miserable-ish.

word of the day – corruption

after being ridiculously unimpressed with last night’s super bowl commercials, i wanted to post at least one spot that stood out from the rest. that task was difficult due to the lack of creativity, below average writing and uninspiring cinematography. however, in my humble opinion, chrysler took top honors with “imported from detroit”, which unveiled the brand’s new 200 series model.

they managed to combine a well-versed, honest story about a once thriving midwest city and a new dawn of american automotive design and innovation. as i listened to the announcer, i felt so close to the words spoken, depicting motor city.

it’s the hottest fires that make the hardest steel. add hard work and conviction and the know-how that runs generations deep in every last one of us. that’s who we are. that’s our story.

now, it’s probably not the one you’ve been reading in papers. the one being written by folks who’ve never even been here and don’t know what we’re capable of.

our stories are similar. these words describe our city just as much as they do detroit.

what an inspiring message. although, i could have done without eminem. i get the correlation, but the ad would have been just as powerful without the rap superstar.

i would love to see the city of cleveland promote our people, culture and values in this exact way. in such a raw, beautiful and motivational form.

how about we get on that?

word of the day – captivate

i have been MIA this week. actually, make that MIB (missing in bed). a nasty flu bug has taken over my place of work and consequently my body. in other words, the past few days have been very uneventful and i do not like the word uneventful.

fortunately, i did not make a road appearance during the winter storm this week due to illness. while it looked pretty nasty from my window, it really didn’t seem that bad based on local news reports and up-to-the-minute road condition tweets.

while cle didn’t get hit that hard, chicago got nailed. as i watched the weather channel and saw the 20 inches of snow the windy city received during afternoon rush hour, accompanied by 60-70 mph winds, i thought, now that’s a blizzard!

on lake shore drive, hundreds of cars were left stranded overnight due to the inclement weather, with some people left in their cars for up to 15 hours.

could you imagine!? chances are your cell phone would be dead within that time period. and your car battery would also struggle, as well as your sanity.

what would you do in that situation?
